Recto-vestibular fistula with colonic duplication: report of three cases and review of literature

Abstract Background Anorectal malformations associated with colonic duplications are a rare condition. Double terminations of tubular duplication in the perineum even rarer. Colonic may have different presentations according to its location and size incidence less than 15% all gastrointestinal duplications. We hereby report three such cases recto-vestibular fistula along underlying colorectal over period 10 years (2010–2020) managed successfully by surgical approaches. These also illustrate diagnostic challenge variable presentation female patients fistula. Case 1 is patient flank heteropagus absent anal opening fistula, while 2 3 presented as suspected H-type normal opening. All were however specific approach on case basis. Duplicated colon was excised 1, but 3, duplicated converted into single channel using proximal distal staplers. Further definitive repair done.
